Living RoomHave been slowly furnishing the house. The wooden chair in the foreground was literally "shipped" from Miami aboard Calypso in March 2009. Also on board were the conga drums, guitar, all the books for the library, bicycle, and boxes of stuff. There was just enough space for me to sleep.

Library ShelfThis is an art-deco-inspired shelf unit with cabinet. It was more difficult to build than it looks!

Stairs BEFOREI guess the previous owners moved out around Christmas time. I wasn't crazy about the painted metal with intricate ironwork. And the wood was stained so dark you couldn't see the grain. So I decided to redo it.

Stairs AFTERI reused all the wood, which turned out to be a beautiful Brazilian Imbuia.

Kitchen BeforeWhite Formica, white appliances, white floors, white walls, white doors, and of course white security bars on the white windows. Did I mention white sink with white faucet? I think the previous owner had some issues.
